Time Out Ten

There's No Business Like Show Business
Sonny Rollins

For this item you need to be able to stop for ten minutes.

We are often moving on to the next job, the next meeting, scrolling down social media, taking the next call ......'Time Out Ten' asks you to stop for ten minutes and listen to a particular piece of music; to find a time when you won't be interrupted, when you can put in/on your headphones and chill out. Ten minutes isn't long.

"Let's put on a show right here, right now!"

There is something uplifting in the  spontonaity and enthusiasm in that cry. Jimmy Cagney and Judy Garland in Babes In Arms ;  the kids from Fame ;  the amazing Twist And Shout  from Ferris Bueller's Day Off....

As we get older, that spontonaity gets harder, Can we afford it? I've got my job to think of! What about Health and Safety? But occasionally it works. Occasionally we can come up with an idea, an opportunity, a chance to make something happen.

There's no business like show business.

There's no people like show people, they smile when they are low

Yesterday they told you you would not go far, that night you open and there you are

Next day on your dressing room they've hung a star, let's go on with the show!!
